Carol Reitter Elia

Carol Reitter Elia brings an Invigorating and Balancing yoga practice to ST LUCIA for all levels at OST, 2008. Newtown Square, PA, JUNE, 2008: Carol Elia, Registered Yoga Instructor with Yoga Alliance and ACE certified personal trainer, is bringing her spirit and energy infused yoga sequence to the island of St. Lucia in June, 2008. Elia began practicing yoga with Baron Baptiste, former instructor of the Philadelphia Eagles in the early nineties. Her yoga teaching began a few years later when Carol decided it was time to give the community a taste of what she was experiencing with a consistent yoga practice in place. Elia taught at local yoga studios and founded Yoga4Kids, a company that brings yoga meditation, stories, movement and relaxation to kids and teens of all ages.
Elia, a passionate teacher with over 24 years experience in group fitness instruction, personal training and yoga presents a unique program that brings together the full energy experience of yoga including balancing the mind, body and spirit. Elia’s concern is that “so many people do not recognize the power they have within. They don’t see their bodies and their minds as beautiful. The media steers us away from realizing that we have an internal power that we need to be fully awake in order to use that power to its fullest!”
Elia named her practice in Newtown Square “Samadhi Yoga” for its meaning – a state of joy and peace. She believes that all yoga should be practiced with great joy for the benefit of lasting peace.
Elia has completed studies and has been certified by the YogaLife Institute in Devon, PA, where Bob Butera, Phd., teaches his pupils the tradition of yoga as he was taught in India. Elia devotes gratitude to her many previous teachers including Bryan Kest, Beryl Bender Birch, Anna Forest, Baron Baptiste, Shiva Rhea, David Swenson, David Keil, Pattabi Jois, Richard Freeman, Dee Sivers and Sean Corne to name just a few. She is mother of two and also runs her own successful interior design business that specializes in designing for the aging population.
